As a veterinary anesthesiologist and integrative veterinary pain specialist, Dr. Bonnie D. Wright is committed to practicing the art of helping animal patients and their families transition through all aspects of care involving anesthesia, from initial consultation to support during the anesthetic and ongoing pain management.

Anesthesia is necessary when animals need to undergo a surgical or diagnostic procedure that requires them to be immobile. Veterinary anesthesiology ensures that animals do not suffer pain or anxiety during this process, and it also helps ease the stress of surgical procedures. Dr. Wright is an advocate of handling patients respectfully and using gentle yet thoughtful forms of inquiry to understand and treat pain.

In order to reach this level of knowledge and skill, candidates must undergo several years of dedicated residency training and must prove competency in the areas of anesthesia and analgesia as well as successfully complete a rigorous examination process.

Dr. Wright received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, and she completed her residency in anesthesiology and critical patient care at University of California, Davis. She has been ACVAA board certified in veterinary anesthesiology since 2000.
